Yeah but he was riding in a built up area, that is generally a 50 kmph. , depending on the Australian state it could have even been 40 kmph. So he was at least 30 kmph over the posted limit , poss double If he had been filtering like that in France , and was stopped, he could possibly have been facing a small ban . The cop did him for his "recorded speed". Notice that the video clip has been edited to remove chunks of footage both of the riding and of the conversation with the cop. I'm not a gambling man but I'd put a fair bet on the cop having seen him being rather naughty but only managing to catch up with him at the lights, then and only then being close enough to record his speed as he set off - 74 in a 50. He got tugged and a slap on the wrists - how many times have you heard of police telling a biker "I saw you doing X Y and Z but I'm only going to give you an 3 point £60 speeding ticket so consider yourself warned..." when you know damn well they could easily have lost their license and possibly gotten a custodial sentence for what they'd actually done... Still he made me chuckle
He was luckly tbh, we all slag off the police sayin they stopped me for this and pulled me for that, but how many of us have got a "Dont do that again" or "Just take it easy" when we know we should of got "Give me your license" or "6 points for you!" I have a fair few of them myself, one coming back from Wales which im sure many of you know about, was with another member (wont give names) and we took off from the lights, i was up on one and he flew past me going 100+, we got stopped and all we got was a "please be careful" was defiently expecting to say bye bye to my license to be honest p.s Jim can i just ask what the 50.813677,-2.474759 is about in your signature, have google mapped it but cant see what it is im supposed to be looking for :-/
