Just got my car insurance renewal through.
Though, "That looks a bit steep!"

Go on line and the same company is offering new customers the same cover for 75% of my renewal.
Shopped around a bit further and got the same cover with Swift / Axa for 59% of the renewal quote.

Strange thing is with my bike insurance, the quote was cheaper than the previous year and had I not had to make changes (trick dash, clip-ons, cans, levers) I would have let them roll on.

i I got a phone call off MCE at renewal time, so asked for an over the phone quote ( last policy premium was £280 F-Comp ). she came back with a best price, after speaking to her supervisor of £460, stating it was so high due the market prices and risk evaluation going up. Needless to say i had a few words with her and in no uncertain terms told her what to do with that quote. Got home and went on go-compare and got a full comp policy with .......................................................................... MCE :wacky::wacky: for £238 with breakdown, helmet & leathers, legal cover. Then phoned IAM surety who matched the price and added a few more extras on to boot. It pays to shop around after all its just one big money grabbing game, insurance companies are the spawn of the devil........ :devilish::devilish:

Because thousands of people for some unknown reason DON'T check...

They can crack on for me... all the idiots paying too much are effectively subsidising the rest of us, if literally everyone phoned round then the 'lowest' prices would be slightly higher

Surely it costs them less to renew a policy than set up a new one.

Mine is due this sunday, but im moving house in the next week or 2 so dont know if i should lay the bike up for 2 weeks or change address 2 weeks into the policy and pay the ridiculous £50 or whatever they decide to charge on that day for 20seconds of typing

That was the swinger on my decision to go with AXA. They give you an account and you can make your own amendments on line with out an admin charge. Probably get stung another way sooner or later, but figured for £6 extra, was worth a look.

That line "speaking with the supervisor" is a load of crap the call handler has a set amount computer generated per policy, it gets on my tits when they say that!!!
