rather than filling up sues July trip thread (sorry sue) i better start another for the trip ill hopefully be making in june. at the moment ive got the route sussed (many thanks to dave winkmaster) and the first nights accomodation pencilled in, night 2 and 3 are still being looked into this is the route https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=204630414857090639529.0004d525a7b1f9476d4a4&msa=0 may change slightly, as the trip from inverness to edinburgh is fairly short at under 5 hrs. but the destinations will be the same. im planning on staying at the kings knoll in oban. then either a b&b or premier inn / travel lodge in inverness, and finally a premier inn in edinburgh. takes in some fantastic areas (lock lomond, glencoe, isle of skye, lock ness, cairngorms, forth bridge blah blah) no camping on my trip. i travel light and like beds! this trip is still awaiting a couple of things before its a definate. but its 90% there. at the minute its me and a mate, with a maybe from another two guys. the offer to come along is open to all. i will say this though. dont be expecting the TT. the lad / lads im going with have already stated they want to go touring, not racing. and i will respect that. having said that the route and the destinations will be known to all, and if you want to go for a good blast then thats fine. we will meet up again either en-route or at the accomodation. (ive told the other guys this. remember the a87! lol.) im planning on leaving at about 6am on tuesday 11th of june, returning by about tea time on friday the 14th. so there you have it.
Applications should start "i would be a great addition to the tour because........" Please include the £10 application fee yours sincerely o'b highland tours

Shall we fill this thread up with nonsense and ensure it never gets sorted out until March lmfao :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:
Its pretty much sorted daz! Easier if i just give the dates, routes and the stopovers. If people want to join in they can. easy peasy. Sorted on the first page. Its bloody hard trying to get everyones thoughts and opinions unless your face to face. Fair play to the july lot. id have lost my patience trying to sort it. Dictatorship tours rule!!!
yeah i know dave. I think the route is about right. get the miles out the way on day 1 then just enjoy the rest at about 5 hrs a day. Ill check out that bar mate. Where is decent for food in oban dave? Ive seen a few places that look ok. the steakhouse, piazza and Ee-usk on north pier, or maybe a nice chippy like the one on george st.
I just like taking the piss Lee :lmfao: Best way to sort one out it do it ya self and post it then anyone who wants to go with can add their name :shades: I will be in Germany when you guys go so I hope its wet and full of midges in the highlands

that steak house on the main street right opposite the harbour is real good....depending on what night your there it will be busy so ..go there first, reserve you table ,hit a couple of bars, then return . if you leave it too late it will be booked up. right down on the harbour front , there is also a real good fish restaurant, cant recall the name of it !
