OK so heres the thing I think everyone is aware that I had a little spill after a dog ran out in front of me on the Mold Denbigh Rd ne Yscafiog. You may also know that I bought the Duke as a Cat C last year & spent a lot of money and time replacing the damaged parts.

I eventually heard from my insurance company on Monday & they are trying to say that the damage I am claiming for is the damage from the original accident. I have sent them every reciept I have and images of the bike completed.

So whilst I argue that one I told them to get my bike back, they told me to speak with MCE (my brokers) as they arranged the pick up, they said oh we dont have it any more Royal Sun Alliance collected it on the 15th, so they gave me a number for this new company who then tell me that Oh weve sold your bike under instruction from RSA.

Im fuming now so back on to RSA they say oh we never cleared that we will sort it out & sure enough they got it back from whoever they sold it to, the bike lands back here on Tuesday in absolute sh*t order with a Rusty chain, Damage to the throttle from the straps, Rust showing on the frame, another large scratch on the tank the exhaust were fitted loose and they had damaged the undertray and heat sheilding & theres nuts and bolts missing everywhere.

I went ballistic with RSA and a local engineer came out and agreed that they should never have sent it back like that so hes going to come back to me with what they are going to do.

In the meen time Ive been out and bought everything it needs to repair the bike as I can see this going on for months so I have New........

    Engine casing/Clutch cover
    Seat
    Complete plastics set
    Akropovic exhaust
    Crash Bungs
    Swing arm
    Rearsets
    Rear Light

I also have the paint to do the tank & the frame.

So heres the process in pics......

Similar thing happened with me, wanted the ZX7R back in 2007 from Axa insurance. They told me it would be delivered to me after paying for it out of my excess at the agreed cost.

Turns out they sold it to RS motorcycles for £2000 and fucked me off. Never got anything back out of the insurance company and I kicked off for a good 6 months with letters and all sorts. They are robbing cunts in every sense.

Good luck with the repairs, hopefully you will get some cash out of them!

RC8R not happening for you now?

wankers. they shouldnt have sold the bike on until the claim had been settled & you'd been paid out.
until then it isnt their property.

absolute shambles.... and you're missing the riding season :S

This is one of the big problems of buying a cat C or cat D, once you make another claim they do not like paying out a scound time, and some will only pay 50% to 70% of the total value on the sound claim

If you buy anything on the v car it's worth less to start with and some insurance company will not insure it they will pay out as long as it is rite to start with other wise why are they allowed to sell them I have had a few v cars and claimed on them not a problem that's why cat c is beyond economical repair to them it's Cheeper to pay out than repair.

Can't get my head round the fact that they think they can sell your bike before paying you out and then returning it damaged. Something is wrong here, you need to be compensated for what can only be described as sh*t service

I am mate but they have until May the 26th to respond with their decision and the extras for returning it with extra damage, They have agreed to pay for the loom damage, throttle body and Chain. Its the main pay out I want but lets wait and see in the meentime Ive re built it myself.
