    Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend a sealant to stick some Carbon Fibre covers to the existing engine covers? The Triumph race manual recommends "Impact Adhesive 5255 (or equivalent)" - which a quick search seems to suggest it doesn't exist or it's pretty damn rare.

I've been on the phone to Triumph, for them to have no records on their computers to suggest which sealant to recommend. The chap on the phone just suggested some high temp stuff. Local ex-Triumph dealer again suggested some normal or high temp.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to get. I don't want to use any old sealant (normal or high temp) only to find that the covers are scattered across the road a few miles into a journey because it wasn't the right product for the job.

    Anyone help? :)

You want kitchen/bathroom sealant. Works atreat and won't be affected by the heat in your engine cases.

I would let it set for at least 2/3hours before riding it again though.

    Thanks for the reply Oz.

Phoned a dealer that Triumph recommended, as some of their staff take part in racing. I was recommended Loctite RTV from Halfords, so ended up with this. Seems to of held up well so far. :)

Nice to know the kitchen/bathroom sealant will work too, would of been much less hassle than having to wait for Halfords to get the Loctite in stock.
