Zx6r 08, side stand pitches the bike way to upright for my liking.. One little nudge and I reckon it would be over so gonna try and find a shorter one I can swap straight over..
That's what I've just seen mate, zx6 99-02 or zzr 05-08 seem to be the cure for it.. 70£ at youles so think ill check ebay... Parked up at rivi Saturday and had visions of it playing dominos...can't believe how bad it is
Couldn't you go to a welders. With the stand ask them to cut the foot off then half inch and re weld foot should cost £30 Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
Possibly but would the weld be strong enough, think I prefer the straight swap 2002 zxr stand 21£ on eBay.. My gardens pretty flat too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Mate of mine had the same problem on his P7. Threw it down the drive, got it repaired on the insurance and then did it again. We always teased him that the stand was fine, just the rest of it was shit. Anyway the ZZR600 stand is a common customisation to over come the problem.
Ordered the 2002 zx6r stand for it same part number according to zxr forum ,16£ from hills.. Bargain if it stops it going over which by the sounds of it happens a fair bit..
You think you have a problem with your side stand. Try owning an Aprilia RSV 1000. The side stand is a shocker I know of few lads who's pride and joy has gone over in the wind. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk
Mine on the RVF was the opposite, stand was far too short as standard and with the TYGA kit on it, the whole bike leaned over At a ridiculous angle. Had it chopped and 3" welded in to sort it.
I know about the Fireblade stand and have got one somewhere. need to dig it out and put it on. Garage is an absolute tip at the moment.
Stand too long, grind a little off the stop point on the bracket. More lean and also a bigger nudge needed to knock it forwards off the stand if someone is careless. Too short (but not by 3") - weld an old front sprocket onto the foot - pushes it up higher and also gives enough area it is less likely to sink in hot tarmac / soft ground.
Most of those on here will have light weight Ali stands, not forth bridge engineering you are accustom too.
A lot better, at least you can see the difference now, and will save a lot of time and money in the future.
