The 59th International Steve Henshaw Gold Cup Motor Cycle Road Races which will take place at the famous Oliver’s Mount Circuit, Scarborough on the 19th and 20th September has attracted one of the biggest and best entries ever. The Auto 66 Club who organize the event have got the task now of returning over a hundred entries, with the entries not yet closed, the event has been oversubscribed for quite some time. The latest star to enter is Gary Johnson, who last week finished second to Guy Martin in the Ulster Grand Prix Superbike race in Ireland. This will be Gary’s first appearance at Oliver’s Mount but he is determined to be on the rostrum at the end of the day. Other notable riders are Guy Martin, John McGuiness, Ian Lougher, Ryan Farquhar, William Dunlop, Ian Hutchinson, Michael Dunlop, Michael Pearson, Adrian Archibald and Chris Palmer. The programme is yet to be fixed but there will be a minimum of ten races each day for 125 – 250 – 400 – 600 – Superbikes and F11 Sidecars. Practice will commence at 0900 each day with racing at 1300 Saturday and 1130 on Sunday. Sundays programme includes the Gold Cup race. Once again the meeting is being supported by Irish Motor Cycle Racing Magazine, Road Racing Ireland.
