    Soz guys but this is gonna be a BIG post, as i think there a few things wrong :(

    Started yesterday morning ( normal routine ).... Started him up, choke on and warmed him up to 35 - 40 deg... Choke off.... Then ride at 30 mph till warmed to around 50 deg... After that Open him up and off to work !!

    Yesterday he warmed up to 35 deg fine.... so started on ma journy to work... would normally be aroud 50 deg by the time i reach Grappenhall, this time still at 40 ?? Carried on about 30 mph... Temp started going down.. And bike was riding rough, as if the choke was on still...
    Every time i slowed to lights / junctions i'd lose the engine, just dies ( now ive had the dying out b4 and it was lack of petrol so i put reserve on and rode to the nrest petrol station.. ) Opened the Tank and could only fit in 2 quids worth of petrol !! So it wasnt that...
    Bike seemed to run fine after tho as the temp shot up when idle at the pet station...

    Coming home from work... Exactly the same issues, Bike took an unusually long time to warm up and felt like it was literally being choked ( choke was off !! )

    This morning, Same again, tho this time it started over revving.. ( sticking around 10k revs, so i was having to stall him to knock the revs down :( )

    Is it summat simple like water getting into the wrong place ? or does it sound like a bigger problem ??

    Any ideas greatly appreciated

    Devil

    change the sparkplug :) looks like its on its last legs

    as a test, take the plug out... (check the colour of it)

    white = lean
    brown = running resonably well
    black = rich

    clean it up with WD40 and a wire brush, put it back in and see if its fine

    also let me know the model of the plug. if it dies on idle when hitting traffic lights, it sounds like the plug is fouled.

    i have an iridium plug in mine after mine did the same :) best plug i bought!

    I had a similar problem when I had an RS125, all my coolant in the radiator had frozen and it needed a little bit of anti-freeze lol

    Forgot to add... did manage to get it up to temp today after stoppin 3 times on wally drag... But then as soon as i hit around 60 mph, was like the choke was kickin in ??

    spark plug costs 8quid most for an iridium

    Spark plug will only cost you a couple of quid

    You wont need to buy a new plug, its unlikely... just clean up the one you have!

    should easily last another 1500 miles before it needs another clean :> thats what i used to do with my BR10EG, until i swapped it for a dual spark iridium plug

    yea, it will help to sort that anyway, cleaning the power valve will help too if yours has one :)?

    does it normally have a surge at 8k revs?

    If it feels like the choke is on could the choke cable be getting caught making the choke engage?

    :( I know that some two strokes and 4 strokes can suffer with something called carb icing - apparantly has nothing to do with the cold weather and can happen at any time - anyone any ideas.

    What Is It?
    Carb Icing normally occurs at about 2-5 deg. C where there is a high relative humidity (freezing fog is usually ideal conditions). Water from the air condenses on the carburettor inlets and is frozen by the cold air being sucked in and freezes blocking the main jets. This will cause the engine to stutter and stall through fuel starvation. Once the heat of the engine filters through to the carbs the ice will melt and the engine will run.

    The bike will splutter, cough and generally feel rough as old boots. Winding the throttle on will produce nothing, and the engine will sound very funny.

    Found this on Google search

    Best thing to do is start from the main source which might be fuel. Take the tank off clean it out take your fuel tape off make sure the filter on the tap isnt clogged up,then check your fuel lines are clear then after that check your carb bowl might have a bit of water in it.Then after that move on to you plugs otherwise you will just waste money on new ones.let me know how you get on with it.
