Whats the best way of removing an allen key bolt that's rounded?

Being the dribbler that I am, I kinda went abit keen and rounded it "/

usually by hacksawing a notch accross the top that you can get a screw driver into so as to undo the offending bolt

Tap in a torx bit of similar size.

    Job jobbed.

Is the head of the bolt exposed? You can sometimes bash an old multi point socket over the head of the bolt - works a treat on Bandit header bolts :)

I agree with Woody - welding something on works really well

fkinell kev thats a bit extreme mate... he's only rounded a nut off, i think a slapped wrist would be more appropriate :O

If you have a hex bit set for a socket set pop the bit in an extension. good few belts with hammer. then use ball pein hammer and tap head of bolt till its a bit smaller than original hex key. next knock the original hex key into head of bolt with hammer. 99% of time it will come out.

I claim no responsibility for the insinuation that may or may not be taken from any comment that could result in the flattening of digits and subsequent tourettes.
But that about sums it up, bloke.

I use a hacksaw on 2 edges to square it off an get a pair of mole grips on it.
