Following another thread, I contacted Ron Haslam Race School and secured a discount for North West Bikers members. I am getting nothing out of the deal (for the cynical amongst us!), and won't even be doing it myself, but as it was being discussed i thought I'd drop them a line to see what they'd do, and they replied with a discount... Bonus! Full details on the following thread, but wanted to put this here to make people aware so they could take advantage If you're thinking about doing your first track day I'd strongly recommend this, it's an epic experience http://www.northwestbikers.net/index.php?threads/track-day-novice-advice-please.18473/
well done the mail was signed by Ann ? im taking it you know who she is ?lol thats ...Mrs Haslam , the other assistant is Jenny really helpful girls
Yeah I knew that was Mrs Haslam, and was very impressed with the reply... It's not far off a 15% discount!
great pic chas thats Melbourne /its poss the easier corner on the track for knee down action ....we need to speak about your body Language
Arms too stiff, too upright, lean the body weight in more , drop the inside elbow down , balls of feet need to be on the pegs and twist foot outwards, .....hang off a little more. The best way to approach this corner , is to square it off with Late braking, then tip in late , counter steering will help drop the bike own lower then look for the apex at the far end of the bend, this Carries you through to the other side of the track , it's a second gear corner on the CBR 600'. Hope that helps Kev View attachment 73
Trouble is with size 13 feet, its difficult to get ball of foot on with it twisted... Will try and loosen up a bit today
What was the bridge / main entry prob chas ? Get hold of boastie. Tell him to follow you or a few laps and show you the " language " petes a top lad .
I'll be trying my first track on 2 wheels @ 3 sister's in two weeks. if i am quick & take to it well like i did with cars's i'll book on.
Kev there's a taster at oulton next week. It's about £20! Think its on around 430 pm. That's a far better bet than three sis I try find some info or ya. You get a 20 min session. And the instructors lead you or three laps to show you the lines
Is anyone else planning on doing the Ron Haslam day? I'm looking at probably the last one in August or first one in September If a few people want to go I'm probably going to drive down so could share lifts / fuel costs etc. If anyone fancies it let me know and we can sort something out
I did Ron Haslams race school at Donington in 2007. I can well recommend it. Hence my slogan at the bottom still have the T shirt. I also did Chris Walker race school last September at Mallory. I didn't like Mallory so much... long story. Let's just say my mate had a little off track experience not his fault. He back riding his bike now though... I have the T shirt from there as well.
