Pm Darren. He has four wheels. His bike ain't sorted as yet. I'm sure the rehab place would be glad to let you out ffor a day , some fresh air , considering the circumstances ?
Good thinking. I haven't had a "home visit" yet, but people in "worse states" than me have been out. Mind you, pretty much everyone else who has gone out have got wives at home! I would have thought by the 22nd, they'd be sound with me having a trip out though.......they're ace in here anyway. I do pretty much everything on my own.
Good call Kev beat me to it. Don't know where the cafe is and can we have a route map? Is 9.30 early enough?
Sure, I can put a map up, but as per last Tuesday, not sure is it will be much help. The route is in my head. I will post it by midnight Tuesday. The Café is in Oswetry on the A5. The Wirral/Welsh will probably prefer it. As many know Lymm, figured it is a friendly start. I am always ready to get out earlier, but know some like to be on the town the night before. Sure, bring it forward if folk want.
Surely where the bench is placed will see you ride through Newtown to crossgates ? It's just around the corner from the crossgates cafe. All the new riders on here would love this road , it was also a favourite of martins
I'll be at Le Mans on the 22nd, but there's a V33VTR sticker going with me. A Gendarmarie car may end up with an extra emblem!
The following routes I am fluent with and happy to lead a group. Routes A & B are routes From Lymm services to the Lazy Kettle Café. Routes 1 to 5 are routes from the Lazy Kettle to Martin's bench. Route A. Fast & unchallenging. Route B Technical, stimulating but nothing difficult if approached responsibly. Route 1 Scenic, technical, stimulating but nothing difficult if approached responsibly. Route 2 Longest and only appropriate for a small group. Technical, stimulating and one horror of a single track road with grass in the middle. However the rewards are great. Mixed of fast and sweeping and slow. I love this route, but may be a stretch this time of year. Route 3 Pretty direct but with a detour for interest. Not done section 3, but it is a B road so should be OK. Route 4 Sweeping fast roads. Policed Unchallenging and pretty direct. Route 5 The direct route. My choice subject to the weather playing ball:- B, 1, out 4, A back.
I'm up for this and would meet up at The Cafe at Oswestry. There is another route that you've missed, Cabernet. It's one that Martin used to use from Oswestry and fine for a larger group. You can also use the A528 from Ellsmere to Shrewsbury, great bit of road.
Didn't miss it mate, just not found it . . . yet. Only did too few local evening runs with the Legend and didn't get to share any of our favourites with each other.
has to be said, doof has taken us along some cracking runs down that way...apart from when he took us green laning...the twat
