    will be just the head with the cams driven by an electric motor. any 'engine' noise you can hear is normal mechanical noise that's always there when an engine is running.

    Ahh, so it was driven by an electrical motor, I stand corrected

    Still a cool video, I'd love a working (via electrical motor) cut away engine

    On an engine, the crankshaft (the bit that turns the up and down movement of the pistons into the rotational movement we want to spin the wheels) also moves other bits by gears, belts and chains.

    The crank shaft will power the camshafts, which press on the valves and open them. As long as the cam chain/belt is attached to the crank and the crank is turning, the valves will operate, as seen in the film.

    Saw this when it came out, it was amazing how many so called engine experts didn't know that the valves rotate.:bang:
