my brake pads on the mt03 were done when I bought it but id imagine they'd only used oem / cheap pads and I fancy a dabble with something better. brake power feels good anyway but I dont know if thats due to me being used to only having a tiny single front caliper and a rear drum brake on my cbf so its bound to feel good having twin callipers up front when compared to that haha. the rear on the mt is already like an on/off button due to all of the weight being at the front end so I dont really wanna mess about with the rear as ill end up backing into corners any time I touch it but im considering making a jump to braided hoses and some better quality pads for the front as I know the bike is capable of more. what sort of noticable benefits would I get from braided hoses, or is it more for cosmetics and longevity over standard hoses? im after more real-world info rather than a bunch of percentages and numbers which is all im really finding so far. my main question to you guys is that the mt03 apparently has brakes lifted from the fazer...so theoretically would I be able to use braided hoses designed for that bike too? they seem to be more readily available than ones specific for the mt03 as its not a very common bike but im thinking the lengths needed may be different due to the different bike shape. so would I be limited to finding some specificly designed for the mt, or is there any way I can find what else will fit? probably silly questions but ive never looked to alter anything from stock before so I aint got much knowledge on it.
The bikes may share the same brake calipers but the brakes lines are different lengths & designed for your bike HEL or Goodridge should do lines for your bike
I'm buying these eBay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/320955828918 They also make to the length you want Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
the way mine is has one hose from the left caliper, over the mudguard to the right calliper, then another from there up to the reservoir thingy. do you mean two completely separate hoses, or do you mean the two hoses as is the current set up?
On the HEL website there are different options for the setup you want. Standard you usually have the third one (I did anyway - similar bikes). When buying hoses from HEL I opted for the second ones. One line to each caliper. I'm not sure on the science or advantages but when buying the common opinion on the interweb seemed that it is the best option. There are the ones I have, and would recommend you get: http://www.helperformance.com/hel-brake-lines-for-yamaha-mt-03-2006-2008.html That link is for your specific bike - so the length will be correct. Best mod on my bike. Made a huge difference.
It's the 1st thing I do to a bike, if they're not fitted already. Being able to stop is a nice thing.
if you pop along to shorrocks in Preston with your bike, they will make you up a goodridge kit to fit the bike , they do this just using what you require in relation to hose length and the banjo bolts you will also need .. top guys there ....then take it away and fit it ! this custom made kit they will sell to you at the price of the std one
not sure if goodridge do the colour scheme smudge...i know hel do ...Shorrocks are mainly for Goodridge, those come in black and silver .....dont pimp ya bike bike mate , keep it real

Forgive my idiotic reply but if I'm a 3t setup how would a 2f work with only one connection at cylinder Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
At the master cylinder smudge you put a double banjo bolt on on , this allows for two seperate lines down the forks to each caliper . Most OE is one line off the cylinder down to the mudguard , then they seperate . The two line set up gives great feel on the lever , this in turn inspires confidence that you are braking faster and have better grip . All race bikes have the twin line set up,, it would be interesting to actually see the difference in stopping power between the two . Prob very very small , but it just instills that confidence
Dead straight forward conversion to fit twin line , it's more hard work to bleed the fukas, google good ridge lines and get info , things like this are far more better investment on a bike than engine mods .
I'm getting core braided ones £100 with shipping Hmm goodridge Is £92 Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
