    i'm going to be really outrageous here but you never know...why not buy a new front tyre that doesn't match the rear but what you want to put on the rear when you replace that?

    not like your bike will burst into flames if you don't have matching tyres on;)

    :eek::eek::eek: do what?
    not a fan of mix matching, i know it would be ok but there would be that niggling doubt... would have gone for pr4's but £125 for a front ( fu@k that )

    let me put that doubt to rest when you ride all year round on a very tight budget you get used to trawling ebay for part worn bargains front and back i've had my blackbird 3 years and never had 2 new tyres on at the same time and never had a matching pair and i've yet to expierience any stability problems..

    Nothing wrong with mixing & matching tires lol.

    They are not stuck together...

    If the front has grip - and the rear has grip - where is the problem? I don't know how it could possibly be an issue?

    Put a new PR3 on the front. Fronts last longer anyway so no point doing them at the same time.

    I could understand a linked part being an issue...for example the brake master cylinder from a Z1000 on the calipers of a CBR125 isn't going to work very well. Or a fork leg from an R1 and one from a R6...

    But the tires are not linked together. They're individual parts so they bear no impact on each other.

    It is like worrying if your grips don't match lol

    In theory they are designed to work together, water dispersal, warm up times.. Not been riding that long so I'm just going off what I've read and heard off others..
    The one I want to put on are angels st's

    Paul I had Angels st's on the SV very hard compound and not to good in the wet, wear well, but make the ride hard on the bumps.
    Hope this helps.

    Was talking to a guy at p&r tyres in liverpool when looking for a part worn, who said that most brands are fine to mix apart from michelin where you should at least have michelin front and back.

    Have you considered putting a 1st gen pilot road on for now? Still same brand, decent rubber and plenty of part worns available on ebay for cheap. Picked up a 160 rear for £28 with around 3mm of tread left.fronts should be around the same. Looked barely used when I got it.
