OK it isn't' actually paint, it is a plastic coating that can be peeled off. So it doesn't damage the lid at all...still 100% safe.

Mine has been bumped & bashed a few times (carrying it around work/cinema/uni etc) so had a few scuffs.

I only done mine because I was bored, but it has turned out pretty good. Now to see how long it lasts through winter (I've done engine casings in it before - so it is pretty resilient).

Inbox me if you want yours done. (Probably be about £25-30) Colors I can do:
    • Black
    • Green
    • Red
    • Yellow
    • Blaze Orange (luminous) (would cost more as needs primer)
    • Blaze Yellow (luminous) (would cost more as needs primer)
    • Khaki Green
    • Camo Tan
    • Camo Brown

Yeah mate its good stuff. Tempted to do the whole bike but can't beat a proper respray.

Plastidip aerosol. Cool stuff and it peels off like tape when you want to change it or go back to original.

I rushed mine so 20 minutes to mask it up and 10 minutes to paint it... and then left it to dry overnight (it was dry to touch after 10 minutes).

1hr job if you rush it like I did, probably 2hrs for a proper job.

Bought 4 cans a few months ago from America. You can buy it here but it isn't the same quality they use in America. Something to do with the chemicals I was told.

Looks worse than it is :) Chipped through the layer of paint.

Will be getting a new lid in December probably, or whenever lidsdirect have a nice sale haha

Hmmm chemicals? Has anyone checked the compatibility of the aerosol chemicals with the helmet manufacturers composite materials?

Probably to do with the color mixing and greenhouse gas rules in the UK or something...I don't think there are any hash chemicals involved (water is a chemical)

Nothing bonds or reacts with the helmet material, and it can be peeled off to reveal the un-touched lid underneath.

However, after a week with the lid...it does mark/scuff very easy. I know you can buy plastidip primer to help it get better adhesion, however that'd put the cost up to about £40 and it isn't worth it to be honest.

It is a nice cheap quick fix, but I wouldn't recommend it as a full time solution if your helmet gets used a lot. You'd have to do it every 2 weeks or so to keep it looking fresh haha
