Did this day last year.... It's a little more relaxed than normal trackdays, as there's no vans or trailers, and therefore most people are a little more careful of binning their pride and joy (though a few did)... Here's the spiel from th'website http://www.msvtrackdays.com/bike-home/event-details.aspx?productid=1809 We started with the idea that trackdays have moved away from the normal road rider, becoming more popular with riders of specially prepared track machines. Nothing wrong with that, but it's a high-pressure environment for riders who just want to take their bike on track. That's where Reclaim Our Tracks offers something different. Every bike must have a working headlight and numberplate to be allowed on circuit, and no trackbikes will be permitted. Every bike must be ridden to the circuit as vans and trailers are not permitted in pitlane on a Reclaim Our Tracks day. The use of tyrewarmers is also discouraged, to keep things simple and equal for all riders. The rules will sound harsh to some, but they help create the most sociable and enjoyable trackdays we've experienced in a long time. There's a good camaraderie among riders on our days, thanks to the relaxed environment. Riders will be split into three groups as per a normal trackday but on this event there will be two novice groups and one intermediate / advanced group, thus ensuring that you will always be with riders of a similar ability and bikes of a similar pace. All riders will typically receive seven * 20 minute sessions of riding time. The groups: Novice - for anyone who has little or no trackday experience. A typical rider in the novice group will have attended up to three trackdays before. Don't worry if it's your first time on track, our additional mini-briefings between your sessions will ensure you are up to speed in no time at all. Please answer the questions at the next stage of the booking process so that we can group you accordingly. Intermediate / Advanced - for riders who are familiar with this circuit, have done some trackdays before and feel ready to move up from the novice session. A typical rider in int / adv group will have attended more than three trackdays before and also have been to Oulton Park before. Please note that our Novice sessions are strictly for Novice riders only. If you are an experienced rider please do not book into this group as you will not be permitted to take part in this session and we may not be able to change your group on the day.
I've gone Inters... I expect to be the slowest, but I've been round Oulton a few times now and kind of know where I should be... This one is different from a lot of track days as they run 2 novice groups, and then a single Inters/Adv group....
I did the one last year as well. On the advice of Dave, I signed up for the inters, despite it being my first track day. I've got financial plans at the minute (House improvements), which is eating into my spare cash :-(
I really want to get into track day riding, something i have always wanted to do. But unfortunatly i have to work 60 hours a week and getting time off is rather difficult
just rung up, inters and fast gone, on reserve list, will probably still pop down and may get in pm sessions. hacks me of all this tyre warmer milarky, they dont allow you to catch up ,lol this could have been fun.
ps . at least at the 3 sisters its a level playing ground and less serious. less chance of real injury or carnage as well, great way to scrub your tyres in and practice riding quick in a safer environment. next ones on 11th june.
my gf has just got me a track day at cadwell park (by mistake thinking it was oulton park), so I think I'm going to try and change it to this one
Brilliant idea to be honest, you have to admit people with a track bike are less likely to care about binning it than someone with their road going bike... if im passed by then im coming!
If anyone on here has booked inters or fast and CAN'T make it can you let me know please ..I'm looking for a place. Cheers ears
i need a fast group pass ....if anyone cant go and has booked please give me first refusal its sold out and the novice group is nearly full too ...
from what I remember its a combined inters/advanced group, and 2 novice groups.... So its going to be a right mix... Because its my 4th time at Oulton ive gone for the Inters groups... I intend on being the slowest !!
