Speaking to Barney at B&C thursday when picking up the bike with Wev, I mentioned my trackday at Oulton Park, He was telling me that one of the companies who run the trackdays, IE: Hottrax, MSV etc had banned cameras on their trackdays as someone had died and the footage turned up on youtube. BAD I know!! Anyone else heard of this?
WOW how bad much the crash of been to kill on, not heared of anyone getting killed on a trackday before
Thats both gutting that someone died, and that camera's have been banned. Does anyone know what company it is?
My mate Mike had a relatively soft accident on track (ran into a tyre wall side on), came very close to death and after 2 years is still trying to recover. I've got some pics of him on my facebook with his Ducati 1098S a few months before his crash, he's not able to ride a bike anymore and battles with simple tasks like making himself a cuppa tea. Just goes to show that anything can happen.
It is just luck whenever and where ever you fall off a bike really. You can come off at 20mph and be a mess, or you can come off at 100mph and slide gracefully to a halt and be fine. When i came off on my trackday apparently on the CCTV the bike came very close to landing on me during the cartwheeling. On another day it could have been a lot worse.
Was with MSV but went through Wallasey Aprilia. Couldn't use my camera as it switched itself on when it was in my pocket and ran the battery out :fight: :fight:  but i did see 3 other peeps with cams on helmet ( go-pro i think ) and bikes ( Oregon ) so you must be alright to use em.
