Cheers Chris, I booked in fast, will give you a call in the morning to see which garage were in. What times everyone getting there? Rich
i'm aiming to get there for 7-need to get my suspension tweaked and change the brake fluid will try for the nearest garage to the bogs/control tower I will change to fast group if the weathers ok
Guys that was awesome weather was mint just got a bit hung up on going sub 2 minutes however as Paul said because I was in the slow group every time you roll off the throttle your losing a second so all in a great day and my 2.03 lap doesn't seem so bad. It was great to catch up with everyone cheers guys.
A busy day at oulton ! Got there in garage 3 with Rich and Dayo and Big Daz joined later on his Superduke.Paul Owen was there to give me some coaching in the afternoon-was supposed to be me and dayo but dayo's bike threw a valve or something. Tried to change to fast group but wasnt able to so stuck it out in inters The day started well, got the brake fluid changed and suspension sorted after the first session First session was like a procession though-quite a few guys who should have definitely been in novice-one guy in particular on a full road bike sitty uppy bmw type-doing lifesavers in the corners ! Got the suspension set up for me at the end of the first session and immediately it felt better-turning in was easier and no rear bouncing-well i didnt have much of a test as the session was red flagged on the outlap as i got to druids, came in and it was pointed out to me the rear subframe was broken !Harris adjustable subframe had snapped at the weld then the force had snapped another bit and the tank support-Looked like game over but Paul Owen came to the rescue and fabricated a piece of ally to hold it all together-i missed the rest of that session-and the next session i had a borrow of Pauls TT Spec R6 !What a beast of a bike ! to be fair i was terrified of crashing it so bimbled about, but it gave a few guys who overtook me a (false) thrill thinking they'd whizzed past a tt racer..lol ! Bike sorted for after lunch and was lending dayo it for the afternoon then straight onto me in inters-just as well couldnt move groups!Learnt a few lines and had some really good advice off Paul, just need to grow bigger balls now!gained a couple of seconds as well.I think i haven't felt quite right on supercorsas so the next tyres will be back to interacts-I found out that the front tyre was a street compound sc2 and the rear was an sc1 and was shredding to bits, starting slipping quite bad by the end of play. All in all a great day was had,had a good chinwag with Keith Flint-top fella!>Just have to get the frame Ally welded and fix my £3.50 quickshifter ready for Cadwell on August 16th.I can also now book an oulton in August or Sept for £75 ! Winner ! SOMEBODY BROKE MY FERRARI CHAIR !!
Sounds like you had an indifferent day Chris lad, but as normal you enjoyed it which is great. How nice is Keith Flint I meet him at Silverstone at the begining of the year. Iam at Oulton this coming Wednesday as I am workign on setup for my first race, all the suspension has been sorted by Kais by then so I will have to get a good base setting. Hopefully Dayo will get his bike sorted as soon as, do you fancy coming to Three Sisters on the 20.09.11 to provide some support? See you soon lad, going to get that 1min 55sec mark on Wednesday (Chrono too so I will have valid proof for some)
10th not 20th. Your going to need to change your rebound, as it is 11 corners in a mile or 11 corners in 65 to 70 seconds, which is about one every 4 seconds. People call it a go cart track but the following started their racing careers there: Casey Stoner Neil Hodgeson Both the Lowe brothers Carl Fogarty
