I was in Novice group and it was a cracking day out yesterday, was going to put wets on the bike but they wanted £50 to kept the OE tyres on. Tiptoed around the track in the morning while it was still damp and managed to get comfortable once it had dried out and played with Ant for a few sessions. Had a few moments with the back end snaking about, but I realise it's because I'm putting too much pressure through the bars (hence arm pump?). Maybe a session at Ron Haslam race school or similar will teach me better body positioning. Dropped the bike at the start of the afternoon session and damaged the footrest - I was turning round to see where Ant was and the bike fell over. Felt like a right nob coz I was at the front lol
As soon as i saw it going i put mine on the stand and came over to help you back up with it. you were very lucky just to snap the hero blob off, and it just did a little wee of coolant after being on its side. anyway glad we all had a good day. going to clean the little CRM now before it goes back into storage, it performed well and was alot of fun. Was good to meet everyone - until the next one.
I was behind someone at the chicane when it came off. I can't see the video on my iPhone so I'll check it out later on the laptop.
Were the organisers strict on noise levels and did they check for loud cans with there decibel tester?
yes very. lots were failing and told to go away and sort it. saw a couple trailered up and driven home. saw a 600RR with some bolt and nut and washer affair in the tail tipe in an attempt to shut it up - i had pictures of being shot if behind that.
I did. Was coming up to that bike and the foot slipping off the peg caught my eye, then i thought whats that bouncing about...and went left around it to avoid it.
Was chuckling to myself watching him trying to put his foot back on the non-existent peg and doing a Fred Flintsone through the chicane lol
Had a belter day, weather was a Mahoosive bonus Was good to meet a few MWB'ers Great fun for £55,fed aswell Liking all the pics, all the MSV pics should be up on their website maybe today/tomorrow?? Dougall just watched ure vid, going well mate Cant wait for next one Digger.. As always at Oulton was very strict with noise testing, seen a few riders black flagged, naming no names..... No 101???
Best advice I can give mate is get the next one booked as soon as, youre only going get better with more tracktime, all your lines were lookin good and you were hitting most of your apexes. Bear in mind though most other TDO's dont put the cones out for your Turning points and apexes,so when the cones arnt there you need to be looking at sorting your own TP's etc Also try not get behind riders with dodgy footpegs
Here's a video from yesterday.... See if you can spot yourself in there !! http://youtu.be/bokJYP2SUAg
One of the best track days Ive been on, I only got black flagged twice, great to see everyone again and get back on the bike, Thanks to Ninja Sean for the lift. Si #91
