oil filter

    i have decided to do an oil and filter change on my bandit 600 got the oil no problem then came to the filter and i couldnt get it to move at all. in the end had to give up and just put the new oil in witht the old filter! i realise i now need to change the oil again but needed to get to work! any tricks to getting the oil filter off i have a filter removal tool the one with the strap that i tighten with a rachet

    any ideas would be great

    most people just use a screwdriver to get it off. Just whack it in, then use the screwdriver to twist it.

    hammer a long screw driver through it then twist it off :)

    We thats what I said to ghosteh to do but it didn't have the room to twist it, we used the strap removel tool with a big extension bar. If I remember rightly it has to at the top to work gud, Or was it at the bottom. Not the side tho!!!!

    I think it was at the top, going though the front of the downpipes on the left hand side of the bike(Right hand side if you're sitting on the bike)

    Bloody awkward thing to get off though lol.

    just done mine on gsx

    pirced it with screw driver and just ripped outer black layer so got some moulgrips at it done the job

    bought a oil filter wrench now for future :plus:

    i got 1 of those oil filter wrench things tht tighten when u turn it.seems to work fine on my uncles bike.feel free to borrow it if u want.
