the dilemma i have guys just got my zk4 gixxer 1000 limited edition model, anyway the guy i px mine with says he always service it with fully synthetic oil, good stuff not cheap crap, and i was going to service it,
and not sure if to stick to fully or change to semi synthetic oil.

what do you think guys and of course not forgetting the galls, will it do the engine any harm.

    cheers

i believe the engine is designed for semi-synthetic oils.

fully synthetic will make the clutch slip.

Just check it meets JASO (Japanese Automotive Standards Organization)the standards for 4 stroke oils which were measured against an oils ability to resist clutch friction & slippage & to prevent wear & pitting in the gear box,There are 2 classification grades for 4 stroke oils Ma & MB. The grade JASO MB is lower a friction oil & MA is relatively higher friction oil.choose a branded oil both Semi and fully synthetics will do the job

Synthetic oil is good if your riding your bike under a lot of stress or do a lot of short journeys, I change my oil every 2-3k ,make sure when you change your oil you run the engine up to operating temperature before draining

That will be ok John, but why pay £7 for postage get to your local bike shop like i said any branded oil will be ok I paid 19.99 for Rock oil plus 3.99 for a filter if your going to be changing you oil regular then paying top doller is false economy
