I really am not fucking amused, went for an interview last week, for a Trainee Bar manager job, got offered the job on the friday and said he'd mail details of me starting, and today i am not not been offered the job, due to some fuck up in contracts, his idea was to have two managers and split the shifts between the current and me. Now because he doesnt have the hours to give out i wont be getting the job.

Now im really really fucked off by this, why advertise for a job, and offer it without first looking to see if you have enough hours to split between your fucking staff, simple and basic admin fuck up.

So now im back to square one, £265 in the bank account, a shit load of bills going out next week, £1100 of credit card debt and jobless.

Fucking DAS plan for this year has gone out the fucking window.

I might as well just sell my pissing bike.

I am not amused, nothing seems to be going right, lost my girlfriend, lost two jobs i loved, im in debt, losing weight as a rapid rate. Cant see a way out of this very dark tunnel

If your prepared to work theres always a way to make money :)
aim a little lower to get some money in for the time being like a bar job? supermarket? etc...
I know asda pay a decent rate for working night shifts, my mate does it and makes a mint :)
Or maybe labouring on a builder? shit job but its money.
You can keep applying for jobs while your doing a less satisfying job.
DOnt stress about it too much, things always work out in the end.
    Ad.

Chin up Marc ;) Plenty of jobs out there. Just need to take anything to get some money coming in. You can always continue looking for another job while your employed with someone.

Sorry just one of them days yesterday, been applying for a shed load of jobs today, some full time, some part time. Travel agent jobs again, bar jobs and warehousing jobs.

So hopefully i can get somewhere with them. Just going to have to reorganise this years plans. Going to save up for me test, get that passed and then pay off my loan and credit card debts and get a newish bike the end of the year or next.

I need to learn from my mistakes also, i left a perfectly good job at Morrisons in 2006 to go and work as a Flight consultant for CO- OP travel and then they closed down a few months later and fucked off to Stockport.

    You tried job agencies?

I always kinda laughed at the idea, thinking they were a joke...

But i left a job in a hurry (i had three jobs at the time - and the boss from my main day job was taking the piss, so i just said "i'm off" knowing i could find work again, and even if it took a while i could survive off what i was earning from my other jobs)...

a friend told me to ring a place called "Brook street" in preston - this was on a wednesday - they asked me to come in on the thursday for an interview and a computer skills test (i.e. typing and data entry and give brief description of self and skills - basically writing a brief CV for ya - even tho i'd already written one, lol)... they ask you what kinda work you're looking for, and ask you to give them a realistic 'minimum wage' of what you would work for

I didn't think i'd hear from em again...

On the friday (i.e. the day after!) they phoned me up and offered me a 3 month temp contract on decent enough money (more than matched my last job)!!!

As it happened i ended up getting a permanent job at that place, and 4 years later i'm still there!

definately try job agencies... even if only for a temp position like people have suggested above - it'll pay the bills, and it's always easier to get a job when you have one (you get a reference and future employers have proof you're not scared of working and you're not just gonna quit a few weeks down the line)

Current job was with an agency, i take it some agencies are better than others.
The job at Dabs was great and i enjoyed it, however they said it was permanent from the off, but really it was tempory over christmas.

Hhave to try a few more agencies, like best connection etc, couple of jobs at Trafford Park going, so will try them.

Definately try Brook Street mate, my brother got his current job working for the council through their bradford office, it's a bit of a scam, the council pay them £24,000 for my brother, and they pay him £12,500, but it got him his first job in no time and he's still there

I'll give them a go, im sure theres a brook street agency in Manchester. I think ive walked passed it when i was pissed lol. As theirs a street near Market street metro with loads of agencies on and the jobcentre. Give them a try tommorow, weather permitting!

Got another interview for a job i sent a cv off to yesterday, back to the company who i used to work for part time while at college, Travelcare part of the CO-OP group, which is boring call centre sales but its a job. near old trafford too so easy enough to get to bike or public transport. So we will see, its one of these compency based interviews tho which i cant stand.

Tell me a time when you have dealt with a awkward customer! that type of stuff, ive never dealt with a awkward customer lol

Thats the way i do it, agencys arn't great but they can get u into work quicker than any other way and it at least means you are getting some money in. better than the dole, like everyone said u can allways look for work while ya doing some temp work. thats what iv'e done, and now thats what i'm about to do as i'm jobless at the moment.

Going to head down tommorow see what they and hand a cv in. Try a few of the agencies. I have a plan, get a job and get some money together untill i start uni or if i dont get into uni for whatever reason, then im going to try get myself in the Army, as an officer as opposed to a private. But first priority is to get a job and get some money coming in, only have enough money to last for 4 weeks.

Reet been and registered with a few agencies, so that will get the ball rolling. Got 4 interviews for the 4 jobs ive applied for. Im also hopefully going to be hearing aboyut my uni application next week or the week after, as my auntie has just done a reference for both UCLAN , Manchester and Salford uni's, so thats 3 out of 4 ive applied for.

So we'll see what happens in the next few weeks, then i just have to find a job to last me till i hopefully start at uni.
