Just checked http://www.crashmap.co.uk/Search and there were 4 motorcycle accidents on that corner between 2006 and 2012, it's not just me then :wide:
Yeah I approached a corner on the A543 too fast, panicked and got target fixation and subsequently crashed into the verge in front of me. I went superman into the grass as the bike lay down. Damage to the fairing and clutch lever bracket but I'm fine, just a little shaken and a bit stiff on the back and neck.
not being funny hope your ok but i saw this on another forum yesterday, dont know if it would be suitable as a doner bike http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB500-/221534408551?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item33947acf67
Cheers for today Boyo's.......great day out. Tom don't beat yourself up the bike can be repaired: remember a successful ride out is a ride when all riders return - Today we all did....
Glad you all had a good day out, making me regret the late night. Went for a quick spin in the evening but hope to come along on another ride soon
Another cracking day out (eventually once the clouds buggered off .....), glad I didn't ignore my alarm. Echoing the above re the off - it's easy to beat yourself up, especially when it happens in front of such esteemed experts as us .....:roflmao:, but you dusted yourself off, de-weeded the bike and got back on like a good'un, - nice to know the tape held till you got home, pity you can't use it to fix clutch cables .
As I was at the back and came round as what shall be known as toms corner I thought to myself I didn't know the Tour de France went that way. And realised it wasn't one of them yellow painted mountAin bikes scattered all over Yorkshire but in fact one of the group couldn't get bike in neutral so just ended up stalling it to help tom I should of realised from this point and the more play in my lever the cable was going to snap . But I have learnt something today. I need a litre bike.
dont feel down smudge.youll not be the first to underestimate the big old ninja. wasnt the former fastest bike in the world for nothing.
Cheers guys, I'm still feeling a little sore today around my right elbow and lower right chest so I am off to A and E shortly on the advice of NHS 111. Other than that I have a little stiffness in my neck and a pain around my inner thigh/groin area that is a little uncomfortable. All things considered I've come out of this pretty unscathed, it helps if you land on a grassy bank even if it was a bellyflop. The fairing on the LHS is being collected by JaySP1 to repair and respray (for the 2nd time this year ), he has also offered to repsray the tanks whilst he's at it too. Just need a new set of indicators and mirrors as well as the clutch lever perch, I'll make an ask on the CB500 forum.
