There are a fair few nicknames utilised on forums, in games, and indeed 'real life' Some are obvious as to why a person has that nickname and it's origins, others aren't .... So...... My question is, just for a bit of fun... If you have a nickname, where did it originate & why?
I should start I guess.... I have had mine for a good 25 years,. It started off as little miss independent... Due to me being stubbornly independent I guess... It evolved to 'Indi' & stuck... Think I get called Indi more than I get called by my 'proper' name. Except for by my mum... And if I get the full name... I know I'm in 'shit'
I get called anything you can add to scott Scott Scottie Scotland Scotto Scottiebigdick Scottiewiththemassiveschlonng And so on Yes all of them.are real.
This one's going to make you laugh, my first name's Philip, I shorten that to Phil and my surname begins with M. Hilarious!!!!!!
Sorry, I have got a nickname I've had since I was a kid but if I used it people could see my "other" life.
mine is the name Ive always used for gaming. tis my first 2 initials and I used to play a lot of star wars back when the games were good hence the last part.
Mine is my Xbox live user name started as PACuk initials plus country but the yanks didn't get it so I got pacuk... I usually just get my second name with a y on the end
I ended up with 2, both from when I worked down the pit, First one was Zep . Cos I had long curly hair like Rob Plant and some of the dicks thought they were taking the piss by calling it me knobs..lol. The other which stuck was Grizzer or Grizza from when we were all out one night and in the muddle of a fight I grabbed someone in a bearhug and threw the over a wall They started calling me Grizzly and it changed to just Grizzer. But I'm nice and calm normally
Had a similar thread to this a while back but I cant find it now, Mine is from my old footy team when we used to edit ourselves into teams on fifa or Pro Evo When you put in your commentary name, if they didnt have your surname you had to find the one that sounded closest to yours, and the nearest I could find was Tanko So jimmy Tanko = jimmytanko
Lilday name is David and I'm short I think I was about 14 when my amazingly awesome brain thought up this genius name. Now it seems silly but it has stuck I usually just get 'Day' these days. 'David' makes me sound like a child, and 'Dave' makes me sound like an old man.
Many years ago when I left school I was the only one of a bunch of mates that went into the motor trade. Ended up fixing everyone else's bikes cars etc hence the nickname. It hadn't been used all my married life but resurrected it when I needed a user name for this forum.
Daveace goes back to the days when me and mate used to play on his spectrum. He was also called Dave so any high scores we had to come up with different names he got Dave cool. Other nicknames was called steptoe at school due to me parents not having a lot of money Sent from my Nexus 4 via a satellite in space
Back in the day when I used to do Lan tournaments, my mates noticed how much i smoked and called me CaNsA.
