Not CBR 400 - go for VFR 400 instead - nippy handling and lots of revvy fun, slightly bigger than CBR and more powerful. You'll struggle to get one that works for that money though - mine's not pretty and it was twice that to buy it and get it running properly.

Alternatively Paul Russo hires 600s with all the tyres according to weather, tyre warmers, everything set up for 180 + petrol.

Just about any of the later 400 track bikes will suit ya look for a good speck on suspension & get one with spare wheels. Dont buy one with a tuned engine standard is fine & will be less hassle.

If ya stuck give me a shout & I will help ya to look.

Why can't you use your SV on track?

180 seems very reasonable for hiring a bike.
I had a look at hiring a 600 cc track bike last year, but the particular trackday organiser would only allow the hire of trackbikes from 3 particular companies listed on their website.
After they quoted me about 700 all in (incl insurance), I decided I didn't really want to do a trackday for that price.
