New gearbox needed?

    Aye... I know John and Dave there.

    Dave reckon's it's the gear selector internals. I'll find out later what's wrong. It's getting looked at right now :)

    ~Fair play my car is getting fixed right now as well :), then i'm gonna Part-ex it with all my money :( but gonna get something a little bit more decent.

    Just had the bad news. It's the gearbox internals that have gone wrong as I thought. Looks to be problems with 3rd and 5th.

    Gonna cost me big money but it needs to be done. Was thinking of getting a reconditioned/second hand gear box, but that'll cost the same as the new parts and I won't have a guarantee on it.

    The guys at Orrell reckon max £800 but they won't know for sure until they've stripped the gearbox down :(

    Looks like Le Mans might be out of the question.

    gutted.... thats crap :<

    was hoping it wouldn't be the gearbox and would be something trivial.

    Ah fuck sake unlucky Paul mate, hope you get it sorted on the cheap or summit that really sucks. Still not heard about my car yet I won't till i get to Sarahs tonight. Just hope they can atleast get it running properly so i can get rid of it.

    I'm getting it done by them anyway. I'll know that they're using new parts and it'll be done properly.

    Just had some good news, if I can call it that lol

    Bike's gonna cost £454 to get repaired. That's parts, labour etc. Le Mans might still be on for me :)

    I'll know at the end of the month.

    Thats a nasty amount of cash to splash out on a bike thats not that old :(

    Unlucky mate, know how ya feel lol. At least the bill is half what you where expecting. Hope it's sorted for ya soon though mate......

    price not as bad as you thought good news in the long run if you make lemans but if you cant theres other bike rallies me and crazybiker could take you to and any of your friends if they can handle it lol :p if you got any guistions or dates just ask crazybiker

    paul unlucky mate i hope le mans is still on, where's Orrell coz i got my bike from Orrell superbikes in wigan thats all just thinkin is it the same place

    Went to see my bike this morning before I went into work. It's in pieces lol :(

    Fairings off, engine out and the engine and gearbox are in pieces :( Atleast it's getting done properly :)

    I'll get some pics up later.

    FAO Tom: They had to take the engine out to split the crank case, the guys on www.zx-9r.net confirmed this for me ;)
