A mate has just told me there is a possibility that a new ferry maybe running for next year or 2015? anybody else heard this or read about it? would be better and maybe cheaper.... competition for steam packet..
Think it will be a good thing,more services and cheaper.... maybe easier to get over and secure places on the ferry too?
There has been talk of this and of a ferry service from the south uk for the tt, especially considering the number of European visitors, (I think it was Southampton but not sure), as I understand it the problem is that the steam packet have sole rights to the loading ramps at Douglas, which means other ferry companies can't use them.
I was told exactly the same about the loading ramps. The TT is the Steam Packets baby, they'll do all they can to stay as sole operator, ££££££
