Well, after the debate about whether I should get my old can cleaned up and derusted, I decided to go for a new can. I'm over the moon with it. It doesn't sound anything like a 125 any more! The sound difference is immense. Even Gandy apparently had a sexwee in the tunnel! Straight through system as well, no cat, no baffles... The only niggle with it is - my fuel economy seems to have shot up... I used to do about 150 miles till I decide to fill up. I've so far done 130 and I'm still on half a tank?!
Get your fuelling checked. If your mpg has shot up it's nice on the wallet but of there's a fuelling problem and it's running lean (not enough fuel) you risk detonation and ruining the engine. Can looks nice though
Any decent bike garage should be able to check it for you. If it's a carb it might need rejetting which might cost a few quid but better safe than sorry Well worth it for a nice sounding can though
It's fuel injected. I was under the impression that the EFI/ECU would (to some extent) configure it to the "atmospheric" conditions accordingly? Perhaps I'm horribly misinformed, though! Either way it sounds nice and I'm getting a different bike in about a month anyway
