I went on a bimble up Lancaster way a couple of years back. saw a guy at the side of the road who had a head on with a car. ambulance was in attendance and fire brigade cutting the woman out of the car as i think she rolled after the impact. long story short the guy on the bike ws wearing a ripped to shit jumper, torn jeans and trainers... well one trainer. the other was the other side of the road and his foot was dangling off his leg attatched by his achilees only. the guys screaming reinforced my belief in all the gear, all th time.
If I'd not had motorcycle boots on, I'd have lost my foot. Simple fact. The compound fracture, tbh, was bad enough! I have nice new Sidis ready for my return to the bike.
I've seen a few explosive injuries, and they look completely different. That looks like it's between ops, the sort of cut out the completely trashed bits and clean things up before the skin grafts and plastic surgery starts!
My wife is an A&E nurse and has seen stuff like this quite a lot especially in the summer! One lad they treated had shorts and flip flops on whilst riding a scooter cut a long story short he lost one of his legs!
Just a wee dab of surgical spirit to seterilise the wound.... AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
