    Hi Guys and Gals,
Ok, from the beginning. Passed my CBT a couple of months ago (YIPPEE!!!). Saved up. Got a CBR 125, black with silver decals. Wanna make it my own.
Started with the tank. Was a bit tatty so I've had it resprayed MATT black. The idea being I have a nice matt line following thru from front tank cover, tank, thru my seat and finally to pillion seat. Not so keen on the silver decals so I replaced the tank decals with carbon fibre effect instead.
    Now for the rest?
The thing is, I think I'm gonna be the kind of biker that likes to do distance on a really nice looking bike rather than one who wants to travel at speed? I really like the look of the carbon fibre effect, I want to customise my Black Beauty subtley and thought this was a safe option. But I also like green and was thinking of incorporating a little bit of colour into the scheme? I've seen a similar bike, all black with green highlites and it looked mean!! My thoughts at the minute are either stick with the original pattern of fairing decals but in carbon fibre or go all out and get a 'SUBTLE' carbon fibre flame effect for the front? What a predicament? Any thoughts? xxx PP

anything that says 'carbon' on it is mucho dinero.
if the fairing is nacked why not put a cheapo lightweight race fairing on it?

the fairing on my zx was smashed to bits but bet you can't tell where it was broken now :) dead easy to mend.

Just to clarify. Im a tite wad and refuse to spend alot in one go, the 'carbon' is just carbon fibre looky likey but still awsome looking? Its gonna be some sort of set of decals in that but just not sure which way to go? Thanks tho, beleive me if I had the cash it would be a full, brand new set of top quality fairings with a full customised paint job, but I don't, I'm a biker, I'm brassic! xxx

Fake carbon fibre almost always looks very tacky.

Real carbon fibre, however, can be awesome:

Shame that belongs to the chap who's just been raided. :(

Cheap mods to make it look good ? bit tricky spending hardly any money but heres my suggestions - dont go overboard with the green though ... and leave the fake carbon well alone

don't forget this is only doing it on the cheap ...

A Monster energy sticker on either side of main fairing
Green rim tape (if you're feeling brave)
Lose the big indicators for small ones
Tidy the back end up with a tail tidy (maybe pricey, make your own?) and a slightly smaller plate
Lose the mirrors (looks ace but you gotta turn around a lot more)
    Renthal grips
A white headlight lamp (you know, those ice blue kinda ones)

Alternatively use the money to start saving for a bigger bike

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated! In a real pickle now, just got him back from the spray shop, tank repay (in Matt black) and new carbon tank 'wings' look awesome! The side deals have been removed so it's a blank canvas now? Gotta think long and hard now what kinda deals to put back. Also going for reflective green wheel trim tape, I'll upload some pics asap, carry on with the suggestions please, they're really helpful, thanks again! Xxx Kris
