http://www.sinnismotorcycles.com/wp...es.com/wp_order_part.php?pa_model_ref=K157FMI Hello, my bike has only done 3300 miles from new. Its been stood for a few weeks but had a run 4 days ago. Its been sat in my garden for 3 days since untouched. I started it with the choke on to warm it up, it ran for a few minutes then bogged out. I then couldn't get it to start, it seemed like the battery wasnt charged enough as the lights flashed and flickered on and off as the bike tried to start. It works when we bump start it but dies when we stop, what's the issue? I'm going to clean the bowl of the carb tomorrow, charge the battery up, see if that helps. Any ideas. Please help. The bike is a Sinnis Stealth 125, made in partnership with Suzuki. Above links are diagrams of engine parts and other parts. Need help asap. Thanks.
Agree with CaNsA on the carbs. Also you shouldn't need the chome for long this ti.e of year. Chances are the bogging down was flooding. Take the spark plug out and clean or change it.
Charge battery, this will give you chance to check the connections as well. You are right to drain the carb, would be the first thing I'd do after a lay up even for a few weeks. If it has been left without a cover on, chances are you have some water in the carb/tank. As it starts you can rule out the plug till later, no need to spend money till you have to.
Hey guys. Coming live from the garden, I've took side paneloff, battery is on charge, the meter says it was in the red, its now one light away from what I assume is 'fully charged'. It has a smiley face picture . I have looked over the bike, and realised, its the starter motor making a clicking sound, like it hasn't got enough power. It looks like a big fat battery with two screws on top, with a wire going into it and out of it. After checking out the sinnis website and looking at the part diagrams, I think its the starter motor. Can this be affected by a low battery? Cheers
Just a lot. The starter won't be behind the panel, it will be down inthe gearbox or engine. The clicking thing is more likely the starter solinod. Can you post a picture to be sure? Where are you roughly anyway?
Does it look like this ? - If so it is the starter solenoid, the clicking is most likely caused by the battery being dead, really when leaving a bike for a few weeks you should put the battery on a charger/optimiser. Once they've fully lost their charge they never work the same, I'd charge your battery fully, if it still clicks, try to bridge a screwdriver (An insulated one...) against the two terminals of the solenoid and see if the starter spins. If the solenoid is fine and the battery doesn't have enough power (a battery can read the correct voltage, but still have not enough current to work) I would replace the battery. If it runs when you bump start it, then it isn't a fuel issue and would make cleaning the carbs an un-necessary hassle.
[QUOTE="Cabernet, post: 368042, member: 3410"?[/QUOTE] depends how long the run was.:yuck: Now it sounds like flat battery.
Get a new battery my daelim done the same new Yuasa battery sorted it out there's a eBay shop that does them cheap matey
I'd give eurocarparts a try for a battery, £28 for an exide that will fit your bike. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/a...ies/motorcycle-batteries/?445770190&0&cc5_989
Fixed! Flat battery, and a loose wire on the ignition coil? Problem solved. Had a real good run today, up to longton, back down to Crosby, then back to Southport? I'm in love guys. Bikes are awesome!!
