Hey guys, long time i haven't been on here so sorry -.- hope your all okay

Righty'O my 50cc scooter aprilia sr50 is loosing power, its de restricted and usually plods around at 55 mph, took it out yesterday with my friend, and his does about the same, and i couldn't keep up what so ever !?!?!? he hasn't done anything to it and neither have i except change the fuel and two stroke oil, because they had been stood in the garage for two months

I was thinking spark plug & air filter, so i cleaned the air filter and put a new plug in, even bought some fuel line cleaner and tried that :)

can someone help me please :/
    Many thanks in advance

could be a number of things....
could be dodgy fuel, & did you se your usual 2 stroke oil or somat different?
    any smokier than usual?
could be blocked jet (does it rev free??? oh, you wont have neutral will you?
try doing an oil change - could be summat up with the tranny
    head gasket?
tip - dont tighten the head nuts when the engine is hot! (ping. ping. ping ping [IMG]

best thing for peds imo is run them on chip oil instead of 2 stroke and put a litre of model aeroplane fuel in with a tankfull of juice.
    smells great too!

uhm yeah using my usual Castrol Scooter 2t stuff and could be the fuel because its been stood for a while? or could it be the air temp, because two strokes run warm!

bearing in mind its a 11 year old bike now could of saw better days, although the engine was rebuilt and serviced the day before i got it, as i witnessed him putting it back together

could be as simple as exhaust gummed up - very common on 2 strokes. kills the power.

How would i do that just take the exhaust of and hose it down XD ?

Sounds like it needs dropping off & letting the big boys have a fettle? What do ya reckon Benny I reckon without spending more than £50 we could make that do 70mph

hahha its a right state of a bike though, iv'e had it since June last year, and when i got it it was abit messy, i've not added any scratches to it, however the last owners did :L i've personally hit 70mph out of it, going down the horseshoe pass last summer the engine and most of the nuts and bolts have gone rusty though its a shed to eb honest, embarrasing to call it mine, cannot wait til april, am getting a geared bike hopefully a newish 125 :)

got nicked on my suzi x1 50 at 72mph lol
but it had a fr80 piston and was ported by terry shepherd plus a load of other stuff like kh250 carb, rm80 twin spark plug head and home made expanny
when i wrote it off (hit a dog at 60) the shop that took it put it back on the road and advertised it as 'a very sporty bike!' [IMG]
the first bike i had that would pull genuine power wheelies!

re the exhaust - i used to plug mine and fill it with caustic, but depends what its made of. an ally one would just fizz away.
depends whats up with it tbh, might be sumat & nothing.
if it did 55 before why wont it do it now?
i wouldnt feel safe riding a rev n rip at over that lol!

    isnt the sr50 fuel injected????

    http://www.donwerner.dk/ecucodes.pdf

if yours is, have a look here & see if you recognise any of these errors.... usually either blinking lights when you switch on or speedo will point to a certain number?

let us know what model ie scarebo or ditec... carb or fi

thats what i mean, it did 55 with ease, now its only just getting to 50, after a tinker with it today, it gets up to 50 in about 15-20 seconds XD super fast right?

just wondering what it could be, was thinking could it all be down to weather like the warmth and temperature
