I have got some fitted to me bike with a all on one rear as well as soon as I put a inline resistor on the fronts go off and it slows it down any help anyone.

I have one resistor for the left circuit and one for the right circuit on mine.

I bought those 2Plug-resistor-2Plug style ones from Hein Gericke and they've worked ever since.

Make sure you've got an LED Relay as well, LED's use significantly less power than standard bulbs and the stock relay thinks some bulbs have blown, which is why they go fast.

See when I put one on it the fronts go off.

Got the right kind of resistors?

Try without any resistors at all and see if they all flash (They should if there's no resistance)

If they all flash, then there's not a short anywhere. Try putting a resistor on one side and see if they work properly, then the other.

Also, make sure they're wired up to the correct polarity (Stupidly obvious, but I managed to get it wrong :p)

Well they all work fine but when I do my alarm they are bright and than do my indicators there dim on the front only than when I put these on the fronts don't work. I got them off eBay.

disconnect your alarm from the loom and see whether it's a fault with the actual indicator circuit, or whether the alarm has a part to say.

Did you get an LED Flasher relay?

Don't know if this will help you ........ but here's what I have as a comparison :read:
I changed the standard relay to one which was compatible with LED's ( although on my bike , I had to swap positive and negative terminals around :geek: )

I also have 2 of these resistor's ( one each side at the front )

Having both may seem like overkill but it was the only way I could get mine to work .............. but then again I have 3 sets of indicators .........

    Rear

    Flushmounts in fairing

    Mirrors

    Hope this helps B)

P.S. sorry for the BIG pics :w00t:

Exactly like the 'Cat. Rears, Flush and Mirror indicators.
Except my relay worked at the correct polarity, and my resistors (exactly the same as yours) are on the rear (easier access)

Every time I tried the indicators, they would all flash until I put them resistors on each side.

I think Tom should come and look at it for some beer tokens if he tells me were to get the bit.

haha. Working until Friday as far as I'm aware, so I could pop up then if you don't mind waiting a little.
Basically you'll have your left and your right side.

Left and right circuits are separate, so the only way they can all interact is via the relay.

On the left, you'll have two indicators (Front and Rear) that are wired in to the left-turn function of your switch.
On the thundercat, I have one of HeinGericke's resistors (Link HERE) hooked up to the rear indicator. This resistor is an inline resistor, meaning you unplug the indicators from the circuit, plug the resistor in it's place and then plug the indicator into the resistor.

    So:

    INDICATOR ===== CIRCUIT

    becomes:

    INDICATOR === RESISTOR === CIRCUIT

The fronts do not need a resistor (At least, mine didn't)

exactly the same on the right hand side. One resistor on the rear indicator and the LED Flasher Relay in place of the stock - and you're good to go.

I put led,s on my gsx650f and tried putting in the wired connectors that came with the indicators, but no joy still blinked too fast.
only had to buy a new relay connector for led,s off ebay plugged it in and sorted.

Caution about inline resistors. They can heat you and cause damage to plastic around them. Only true with the shite eBay ones

Is it normal bulbs at the front? I've got normal bulb indicators built into the mirrors. The standard rears are bulbs as well, which I wouldn't mind swapping over to LED, but will they work with the bulbs up front?
Also, to make maters a bit more confusing, the bike's got that CANBUS wiring system!

Be careful with the CAN system mate it can be a mare if you cut into one of the CAN lines, you'd probably have a low and high speed lines on the bike, but I ain't a spark, think you'd need to speak to Someone who knows their onions with this.

Just looking at some info on the BMW, it uses a single wire network to link control units and info display.

Usually quite distictivly marked (insulation wise) but quite rightly avoid cutting, splicing, earthing this wire otherwise probably have all sorts of funny things happening.

I'm trying to find how they colour code the CAN wire.

Thanks for that, there's a rear sub-loom type thing (if that makes any sense!) the number plate light I on a brown wire and the indicators are on a black and a red. There's a BMW specialist not far away, I'll have a word with them. The local dealer's won't say, as they won't recommend anything not specified at the factory!
