BJ radiators cleggs lane 0161 799 6210 repaired loads for me never had a problem after. Used k seal and it's good cures for a while no doubt about that but I wouldn't want it to be a permanent repair it says its permanent and I have had great results but always something in the back of my mind that it's not as it should be cost me 25 quid for last repair done and came back like new painted etc etc. And a k seal would be nearly a tenner

Just gave them a call myself actually, quoted me £45 for a full repair, repaint and everything! Pretty good!

Suppose it depends on extent of repair if tanks need coming off re braising etc or just fin damage repair and paint I had a K7 gsxr done a while ago with serious damage stones thru in a few places and that was 45 And then a zx6 other week and was 25 I can't fault them for quality of work and time taken I've stayed and watched them a couple of times and work involved is worth more than they charge

Well about an inch worth of fin damage. I've gone for cheap and cheerful remedy for now since I don't get paid for a couple of weeks. After that I'll look into getting a repair from a garage. It's stopped at the minute so im going out for a spin then ill use it for work tomorrow. All being well it won't spoil my weekend!!

little bit of a leak this morning but seems to have stopped again, bit worried that some of these products can block the pipes but ive looked into "bars leaks" and its made from ginger and ground walnuts so looks like ive just put a cake in my radiator lol. i did plan on replacing all the old hoses one day so if it happens i guess ill do it earlier than thought. the product does contain a lubricant for pumps though so thats good and hopefully it wont block anything up, someone else has used it on their yamaha with good results and no issues. if it lasts me a couple of weeks or the month ill get it repaired and give the system a flush too.

I used Kseal about a week ago....mate...its really not worth it....the amount of gunk that came out when i flushed it through (did it 3 times) was unbelievable, i'd never touch it again. I'd hate to see inside my engine now.....

K seal is great stuff, had a leak on my rad on the van, sealed straight away never leaked since, in fact I have not put a drop of coolant in the system for 2 1/2 years it is a permanent repair. We have just started to use it at work and that's for defense products.

Did you flush the system before putting the K seal in, cos I'd bet the gunk was in there before the sealer went in, K seal would not cause the gunk.

Yeah i flushed the system twice first, its been coming out of the crack ever since, not sealed it. Being told horror stories now as well haha!

Crack? If you flushed the K seal out how do expect it to seal?
But I guess our engineers have not done their homework then,;) I'm sure we've got the data sheets somewhere.

I assume it a crack rather than just a hole as it seem to have spread. I was meaning the system was flushed before using it :palm: only giving my 10 pence worth on my own experience with it nothing else, i'd have been made up if itd have worked  general consensus i've had off all the radiator repair shops i've called since is never use it in a bike as all the pipes ect are a lot smaller than in a car, van or tank haha. Its (the Kseal) actually still coming out of the crack/hole so i can only assume that the damage is too severe to repair the problem i have.

Ok myth busters time, the sealer ONLY sets when it meets gases (air etc), how will it block the water passages?:bang:

Radiator repair shops want your business, why advertise for someone else?;)

Most bike coolant passages are very similar in size to cars, in fact modern radiators have finer cores to cool faster. Our fuel conditioner (cooler) has a 0.5mm core yet on trial it didn't block up.

If the Kseal is still coming out you couldn't have flushed it correctly and as a result you will have flushed the active chemicals stopping the sealants effectiveness.
