Can anyone recommend anywhere in the lakes to stay for a couple of days to be based at to do a couple of days riding preferably biker friendly with secure parking :)
And a bit of night life so sue can spin on her head whilst doing the splits ;)

The lingwood lodge is superb in bowness, stayed there a good few times. The breaky is top notch and they have got car specs and a double garage for your bike.

lol ! well central lakes is best bit for a base to tour ,and a bit of night life for sue to spin her legs was it ? Bowness is the central place for this . from here you can travel north lakes then south lakes .

i did stay in a place in ambleside ,it was crap but had secure parking. most places up there will only let you stop over for a min of two nights so book asap for fri and sat.

if you find a place you like , just tell them you are arriving on a bike and would like to know what parking facilities they have .

as regards places to go. the hart side pass and the wynot pass and the kirkstone pass are nice scenic places. the ride around windermere lake over to hawks head on the ferry is good, as is a ride over to cartmel

the roads are not really bikers paradise , like bets y coed, Bala, etc ,they are more for just a leisure ride to see some stunning sights.

on your way back , you could head over towards hawes and devils bridge ,settle, through the dales skipton ,pick up the A59 and back to your mansion .

if the sun shines up there its a fab place

have a great time get loads of pictures (of sue spinning )
