it will run lean , but you might get away with it if you have the stock Exhaust on it ....if you pop on K and N and Have an aftermarket can ,,around 5000 rpm when you wind on the throttle you will feel it get "lumpy" and strangulated....it not a big job to rejet..

Mine is the opposite, i have an after-market Yoshi can on the bandit and a standard filter... runs rich to fuck and likes to bog out from time to time

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've watched a few videos on aftermarket filters and we'll the under perform compared to stock

K&N are better than stock for just about all bikes and cars.

K&n may allow more air in so to say but also a load more shit in the carbs also if you have a throttle body sensor after market filters can fook them up hence most say not suitable something to do with the oil but I suppose you can wash aftermarket and get more use.

Get a dynojet kit & clean and tune the carbs. Just done that to my 400, its putting 59.8bhp on the dyno with just a full service!
Also has a nice power curve aswell, little flat spot & 5k but that because i have a blown exhaust. With the new one i'm convinced thatll go and be 60+

The question to ask is was the bike running the same before changing the filter?

I will say that my ZX9r E2 was running a full Akro titanium system and a K&N filter with no re jetting just a tweak on the base settings and ran with no problems for the 4 years I had it.

Smudge they let more air in , that's the purposes of them ....but they are made from far superior materials than stock so actually keep more shit out , they have been and still air market leaders in this dept for years ! I had k and n filters on a 1979 gs 750

Your right, they may be the best thing since sliced bread but on back to back dyno tests they have been shown to loose power. That would be without re jetting or fuel mapping..

Ok when the bikes back I will put a k&n in it and see if there's any difference seeing as I have stage 1 a straight through and scorpion more carb messing lol

I have a K&N after market race system and I've re-mapped the ECU myself runs just like it should, like a stallion that's just been slapped on the ass
