I start this thread not for sympathy.

If two witches wore two watches, which witch would wear which watch?

Also, just physically sit on the bike and stop being a pussy.

This is your tough love, if you need some cotton wool, the wet flannel brigade will be along shortly.

Nathan, just talk through your issues with someone who you feel has your interests at heart, has alot of common sense and can be non judgemental.
Ideally they will allow you to look at the issues, weigh up the options and this will allow you to make up your own mind as only you can say what is right for you.

I suffer in a worse form ermm how to put I've made a few topics here to stop biking and some stupid topics guys on here are superb and always cheer me up when on a ride as you may well of seen on the ride round lakes keep your chin up and if you are feeling really low do what I do and leave the bike locked up, on the days I'm half n half I go to meet points have a brew say I'm not going on ride which then I'm met by well a friendly chat and I end up feeling a lot better and going.

Nathan, I still get apprehensive about a new to me bike or taking a shop one for a test ride. There is something about some people that find security in routine and familiar. Change is seldom something embraced 100%. The up side is that in my experience, once the change occurs, we quickly adapt and find that the whole thing is not so daunting after all. 25 years ago, although longing to go touring, the weeks before this Stelvio trip I've booked I would get proper knotted guts. Now I have the memories of good trips and can put my anx' in perspective. Meeting new people would be a problem too. Now I know all but the special few will sooner or later will get along with me given sometime.
So I doubt at your age you are depresses, but more anx'd over the future. Relax, for some it's who we are and with life experience it will get easier.
And respect to you for admitting it. More balls than I at your age.

Remember if at first you don't succeed skydiving isn't for you. This may not be much help to you - but feel comfort in the knowledge your now in a club of people I've not been much use to. :alien:

Hi, have been thinking about things today... I am not the most sociable of people but.... How is this for an idea?
Askham in Furness seems like it could be a nice run out.... How about a few of us arrange to meet up & go visit Nathan over there... If he feels up to riding down to meet up then all good, if not, perhaps he could walk down to wherever we decide to stop for a coffee/ bite to eat... Could have a natter, bit of a chill out & maybe if he doesn't feel up to riding but would like to get out for a while someone could take him as a pillion? It's just a thought & if it helps one of the 'family' feel better... All good.... Thoughts anyone?

Sounds a good plan, and I'd happily take him pillion as long as he can resist feeling me up (I'm a bit of a looker - @adam123 has tried it on a few times)
