after searching online i can't find the answer i need so here it goes. . . . can i get insured now online with out holding a bike licence while i have found a cheap quote and having peace of mind that im insured? is it possible Mitch OBVIOUSLY I WON'T BE RIDING THE BIKE
not really sure mate but I don't see why not, if you can't finish the online quote just give 1 of them a ring and explain you want it, for theft reasons or whatever. most the bike insurance companies just redrect to the big dogs that insure everything and anything anyway.
It does say on your small print its only valid as long as you own a valid uk licance with the intatlement to drive.
You need to ring a broker and explain the situation also speak to your house insurer as they may allow you to pay extra on your premium to cover it for a period. Good luck let us know how you get on
Yep, adding it to your home and contents insurance will be cheaper What is a £2k bike when they have to shell out for a £100k home.
An excuse to add a big premium onto your house insurance! To add my mountain bike to my house insurance, they've quoted an extra £35 per month as 'it will make your house more attractive to thieves and therefore a higher burglary risk!' I can't remember exactly what I said, but one of the words was off! Shop about, with the new laws regarding vehicles must be insured unless on a SORN, there could be potential for insurers to do a theft only policy, which would possibly be cheaper and less likely to load your home insurance.
i will have a ring around and a good look on the internet again.. basically i want to get insured now while prices are cheap and then when i pass my test i can just hit the road
you can defo insure the bike without a full licence, you will have to ring up. It will cost more to insure tho, mad as it sounds cos you wont be able to ride it without passing your test and if you wait till you pass the premium will be lower!
ive just rang up the 2 cheapest quotes i got online for when i pass and they wont insure the bike with out a valid licence so i will have to just wait .. just hope the prices dont go up to much
One of the lads in work has bought a 600 hornet but not passed his test yet, he has got insurance on his bike. You can also do your test on your own bike if the instructor is willing to come to yours and follow you, so there must be company's that will insure it.
i will keep ringing around then . i can't do my test on my bike as im only 17 so have to be on a 125 :L
ive rang up 5 company's now and its a no go? can you find out the name of the company your mate is insured with?? maybe i could try them Mitch
Just spoke to lad in work,he is insured with Carol Nash. He has a full car licence and is around 50 yrs old so this might have helped him when insuring it.
