Ok I'm having some more work done and I'd forgotten how friggin painfully it is !! I'll get some pics up later but was wondering how many of you have been inked and what you have?
Looking forward to seeing the new tat. You're getting the drawing of Simo aren't you? I could've sworn that was booked for the 28th though?! I'm uninked. Need to find the right design before I get one
Yeah she got me in a little earlier as a favour, tbh I think she was looking forward to doing the tat as its a really good image and it's a4 size on my back
So am I, and proud to be different. I got loads of freckles n hair so it'd be like playing join the dots on my skin. Also can't really be covered in tattoo's in my line of work as my work colleagues are very conservative.
I only have them where I can hide them with a shirt as I too have a job that it would be frowned upon lol but I don't let that stop me
Not having a dig at you mate, I like the look of some tattoos but can't have them myself. Nice arse by the way! lol
That’s some serious artwork there Daz !! You can get gel to put on which numbs the skin, it was designed for people who find having an injection painful, but can be used for tattoos & its great stuff, used it when I had my ribs done. http://www.expresschemist.co.uk/Ametop-Gel.html Put it on an hour before the tattoo is done, as soon as you put it on, cover the area with cling film & tape the edges down so that it's airtight. I've got 5 tattoo's at the moment, 3 of which are custom pieces & I’m in the middle of having a custom cover up done. All of them are in places I can cover up for work, or show off when I want. Having had custom pieces now, I’d never get the off the wall/out the book tattoo's again, as I think tattoo's should be individual, rather than follow trends of butterfly's/dolphins on shoulder, cherry's on backsides & stars up wrists
personally i would never have the numbing cream. the pain is part of the tattoo for me. should be experienced so it feels more of an achievement. maybe i have issues? ive got a couple, from my early youth. one a small scorpion (birthsign) and a blackwork grim reaper (i thought it had a deep meaning at the time!) im trying to save for a large back piece myself. not sure what though yet. where is the studio you are using daz? ive seen some of your japanese stuff and looks good.
3 here, two of bats, and one of the Comic version of the Crow, ( can you spot I'm an old goth ;-)) still wondering what to get next and where to go, can't seem to find any artisit that make me want to take the chair up here
I'll agree with you there Lee, pain is part of having a tattoo done & i' love the feeling you get from walking out thinking yeah i got through it, but there are just some places on the body that hurt more than others. Having had the outline done on my ribs without the gel then going back & having some of the outline redone & shading with the gel, it really did help & my tattooist got more work done cause i was more relaxed. If anyone is thinking of getting work done & want some help with designs let me know, the guy i go to is fantastic & a very good artist, i'll forward his details on to you, he's based just outside of Chester & will be opening his own place in Saltney soon. Think he's won awards for his work, loves doing Oriental stuff, excellent at portraits & fantasy & the bigger the better in his eyes !!
got loads now just finished a custom mauri with a twist on my arm/shoulder which after only 3 weeks of finishing i now want extending accross my shoulders i love tattoo's all shapes and sizes they really are a works of art that should be celebrated (however there are a lot of exceptions) dont like the idea of numming cream though i to enjoy the pain of getting inked its part of the journey and anyone local to horwich should really take a look at horwich tattoo studio they have a page on facebook with a lot of current designs that they have done
The women that did all my work used to work in a studio called the golden dragon in Chester but she has set up a very trendy custom shop much like what's on the tv in Shrewsbury, it's a bit of a drive but tbh she's that good I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I must admit I sat for 5 hours today and by the end of it I was in agony and I was praying for it to end, however as a few have said the pain is part of the process and now I'm home I feel great pics of the finished article to follow.
Sorry to buck the trend here. I don't have any and think that most look terrible and even more so on a female. (Sorry girls) They just don't do a thing for me. But each to their own I suppose.
looks nice that, ive got 2 sleeves and a dragons head on my chest, all done @ dabstattoo.co.uk based in southport. 4 artists working there and a great bunch they are!!!!
The pains part of it, and strangely addictive. Only got the one atm, a realistic heart with one devil wing and one angel wing. Been looking at getting my next soon, either a sword down my spine or scratches from my shoulder (obv thats simplified lol). Tats looking good daz, coulda cropped the pic tho :bad:
