have thought about it smudge, the you can get a +4 for my bike, but what im told is that it affects cold starting and you loose some low end pull, but a slightly better high rev range.most ignitions are retard slightly due to poor fuel in some countries and aid better starting in cold weather. thers no harm in trying it,think my plate was about 14 quid.but i dont need anymore power in any rev range due to the fact,my bike is plenty for me and i couldnt or dont have the balls or skills to use it..
Rider training and miles on the road practicing will be far more beneficial than a few extra ponies at the top end. Put your sheckles in the tank or in an instructors/IAM's hands.
Got a 4 deegree advancer on mine it doesnt give you any more power but it makes the bike more responsive and slightly better m p g for what they cost its worth doing and piss easy to do on mine anyway you dont loose any grunt bottom or top
