How do I go bout swap the tail end of my bandit for somethin bit more sporty??

I like the look of the R6 tails and having owned one previously i know there comfy

Would the standard sub frame need to be cut off or just modded??

subframe is connected to the actual frame. It will most probably need cutting off and a new one welded or bolted on.

Its a big job if you've not done something similar before.

not attempted anythin like this before, but luckily my step dad chopped a gs550 frame for me bout 3 years ago... but we fell out so it was sold

sort of lookin at how big the job is and how much its gonna cost... for when the payout from the other bandit comes... if ever.

its a cut and weld job. i think the r6 rear frame is bolted on so you'd only have to weld the lugs on.
pretty sure some (duc 916) fit on the original rear frame but you have to cut a few feet off the back....not sure... definately a fabrication job anyway...

Other things to consider are how the new panels will mount against the tank and also your lights, battery tray etc.
Easiest way is to cut the Blandit frame and make new mounts so that it is a bolt on job, much easier than welding and it can be modded in future if required.

as said cut and weld job

take it to a good welder wont cost that much

you will probs have to move somethings ie

    wireing
if you have an alarm may not fit were you had it before(many have them under rear seat)
    battery may need to move
    even reg/rec

its a big job if you havent done it before

if your into this why not sign up to streetfighter forum, them lads knows bloody loads give me loads of help

worth it in end does look sexy with different back end on

    hope this helps
