So the past few days ive been bike shopping, looked at a few cbr600f's, a bandit ect, but nothing struck me, until i went to see this in abergele, she has no front brakes, a worn ignition barrel, general chrome corrosion, plastics have degraded over time, the rear fairings dont fit, the seat isnt the right one ect, all in all it was a rustbucket. Just out of curiousity i asked for a test ride in the car park, the engine...wow, soon as it was on and running i decided. It sounds as good as anything ive ridden, better than the er5 i used on my mod 2 certainly, the ride was fantastic, bar the brakes its a good runner, so now i have a project....here goes. New chain + sprockets, new seat, new tank, adding duel dominator headlights, going to replace all levers, brakes hose, pads ect going to try and source some replacement throttle housing for the bars as well.
Nice one , go for it , you get good satisfaction out of knocking up your own project and riding it . Good luck
That can needs to be half the size good luck with this and keep up posted on how you're getting on! Sent from my Sony Xperia Z1 Compact via Tapatalk
Shes home! new front brake hose required, oil change (need to find a new dipstick first) and sort out the left rear indicator (think its shorted) and she'll be road worthy!
You might want to take the rear plastics off and reinforce the little plastic tabs that hold the rear light unit in (if they've not gone already) I'm quite jealous, fond memories of them! Live Forever or Die Trying
Got started on spraying the fairings and tank today whilst i await the arrival of couple of bits and bobs, bo sooner had i applied the final coat of BMW black, a fly decides to land on it and get stuck alm:

Well the engine is now running, gave her some new clutch plates, cosmetics are done, bar changing the front light to a dominator. Just needs new indicators, new levers and the front brake pads doing. Couple of hours work and she'll be up and running! Pictures to follow.
The American market had the Honda Hawk, which was essentially the same bike but with a better name! Have you thought about taking the bike to somewhere like MTC and get a link pipe to shift the can higher? Maybe show the rear single sider off? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
