Head bearings

    can the head bearings on the vfr400 be tightened without undoing the forks. ie can i tighten my head bearings without having to prop up the front of the bike?

    i never proped up my bike when i did it.
    just make sure u dnt over tighten it.

    Its the size of the bolt that needs removing on the top yoke.

    I thought that when i read in the haynes, use a 41mm spanner or socket, that would be a bloody big socket. lol

    Yeah, that will be a beast of a spanner.

    i have never seen a spanner tht big before.

    there are some on ebay for around a tenner. only problem is that postage is the same again.

    Twenty quid tho for somethin that will come in useful. cant complain tbh.

    You'd be better buying a socket, less chance of damaging the petrol tank and top yoke. :shades:
