really dumb question here to most maybe... but as ive not had a bike or come across a bike with a fuel tap... i dont really understand it.

When im filling up...what does the tap need to be switched to... on/off/res.. or any. (for RVF 400)

also im assuming which ever word is showing at the top in this case is what its switched to.

    ill post pics after.

btw any1 know if a fuel guage can be fitted to an RVF because i keep running ou tof petrol and its very embarrassing.

it should always be on. unless you run out of petrol, then turn it to reserve. then turn it back to on
when you've filled up again. you only really need off for when you're taking the tank off or summat.

you'll not be able to fit a fuel gauge to it as far as i know.
what most people do is set the trip meter to zero, then ride till you've ran out of petrol so you know how many miles you get to the tankful.
then every time you fill up set it to zero, and you'll know when to fill up again.

yeah but doin that throwback might be a bit pointless, depending on how hard you ride, it will be different everytime unless you stick to the speedlimits everywhere you go and dont thrash it......160 miles a tank on my ninja but when thrashing it i only get about 100 :) :)

lol. well just take an average. :bleh: you've always got reserve, which should give a good 30-40 miles.
there's not really any other way of doing it.

lmao good points both ways :p hmm thats what tom said.. set the trip.

see how it goes today im off to stockport on the motorway see how it goes.

ill justy keep the tap to on then lol unless im fully out.

btw right one more point to ask... the guy told me the bike failed MOT on the standard exhaust... so he replaced it with a scorpion one and it passed... what i dont get is how it passed with no baffle in the scorpion exhaust??? im beginning to think the MOT certificate guy is a bit of a fraud in bradford!

it aint gona pass without a baffle in is it????!!!! more money to damn well payout!
