Fuel Reserve

Today i thought i would 'test' my reserve, i let the fuel run out fully and flicked the reserve on. So i went to the petrol station about a mile away and the reserve only got me about 1/2 mile so had to push the rest. Is this normal for reserve?

no that is not normal for reserve u shud get about 20miles outta reserve!

If thats on an NC30 it should do about 20 miles at least, mine does. Might be worth taking your fuel tap off and checking its all free of crap, thats the only thing that would make it run out on that short distance.

but yea, ive never gone over 10mile in my reserve, but mines auto i think =S

 

i dont have a reserve switch on mine - could it be auto....

...or non existant!?? ha

 

When your light comes on, your then on reserve.

 

whether my light comes on or not depends on whether i start it on its stand or upright lol.

i just look in the tank and see

 

Its due to the ball (sensor) in the tank. Petrol wouldn't touch it when its on its stand.

 

Tell me about it. looked like a right tit pushing it down Winwick Road. PMSL. I know its not a normal distance from reserve but need to get it sorted asap. Ill try the tap, see if its free from crap.

 

Dont mean to make you sounds thick, But was it nor already on reserve and you actually switched it to ON.

maybe theres just a load of crap at the bottom of your tank you should get it cleaned out it prob work fine then
