I've been looking into servicing the front forks ( not doing the work myself )

As the bike done 15 thousand miles I think it's due new oil in her legs possibly new internals

I've been quoted £150 for new oil new seal new bushes forks stripped and cleaned and set back to my own setting

The company I've decided to use are local ish to they pick the bike up and drop it off also they use k tech parts I'm unsure as to weather to upgrade the to k tech which will another £100 ish

But thought is share this with you all incase others have used this company before
I've seen there work on Facebook and over the phone they talk the talk

    Any feedback welcome

tbh unless youve got zero dosh and too much time on your hands i'd snatch their hands off for 150 lol....
when you consider the fork oil will be £15-20, seals and dustseals £40-50 for gen.... thats a pretty shitty hourly rate lol!!!

id imagine thats just for a straightforward new seals and oil....
ideally if you're rebuilding the forks (as you know) you'd get it sprung for your weight (i went for progs) maybe rework / replace the valves etc....
on my vtr i drilled out the damping valves to moriwaki spec and it made a world of difference - the adjusters actually work now lol!!!

i think if you're going to go for new springs / valving / oil & seals, you'd be looking more like £300+

Ant I think my mate took his bike there, K5 thou as well and the forks seals blew after a week or two and ended up having argument about them redoing them. Will check with him it was there.

Yes it was them, mate said ...

"Yeah. He went on about replacing the bushes the K5 didnt even have them. They leaked again within weeks and he didnt want to know. First class twat come to think of it."

I would just change the oil if I were you if the seals aint blown why fix them? I took mine to other places last year and they blew 3 times, they re did them without arguements but its just a hassle you dont need. Mine blew on the first session at Alcarras, had to do 3 days on track with blown fork seals.

Either that or I would take the forks off yourself and then take them to a suspension specialist (maxton, kais, k-tech etc) who know what there doing. A revalve will cost you around £320 , service about £120 + seals exc VAT
