So today i decided to go out and replace the engine in my CG 125. This was after the crankshaft Managed to mangle in some way. Anyway this was my very first in depth mechanical venture and i think it has gone quite well considering the bike runs and idles well im yet to try out the clutch which I am sceptical about, also i am trying to work out how the back brake springs back that has me baffled but other then that it went very well. I have attached a picture of the bike with the new engine fitted. I think i have done well considering me and my brother had little knowledge on the subject.
Nothing like divin' in and having a go. However, you have installed the flux capacitor upside down. Good job though. Look forward to seeing it back on the road in the future.
regarding your back brake there should be a spring from the lever to the frame somewhere, well done with the work up to now just keep tinkering and you will learn plenty:thumbsup:
Thanks everyone need to tinker as you say the back brake should be an easy one was just happy to get it done and it put it and myself to sleep for the night haha. Had a little go today its runs smooth clutch is nice probably the best I'll ever do. So I'm looking forward to having a go possibly tomorrow
Actually wasn't my house was a friends who was kind enough to let us use it so we where out the cold that wouldn't go well in my house hahaha
The Woodruff key tore a chunk out the Crankshaft i could probably fix it but didnt want to have a botch job being my first bike i wanted it to just be stress free and this was it was actually quite satisfying
I'm glad you got it sorted and well done for fitting the new engine. Did you stick with a points one or upgrade to CDI in the end?
