    Were the downpipe is connected to the manifold there are meant to be 2 threaded studs which the downpipe slot over then 2 nuts are screwed on to hold it on.

    One of the studs has fell out so atm ive got a bolt rammed in and because the thread is knackered inside, the bolt wont screw in properly. Also, on the otherside, the nut came off, so ive put another one on and it vibrates off all the time :evil:

    what i want to know is;

    1. Do you think a bike workshop will be able to drill out and retap the hole with the knackered thread, and put in a new one?
    2. Because the exhaust is loose, there is no seal around the manifold, so its blowing... Is this doing damage to my engine?

    yea would imagine you would be loosing a little bit of power, tho not too much, all depends on how much is escaping :p

    Just to add to this you should ask for a 'helicoil' or 'timesert' insert.
