Well, as some of you've probably seen/read I broke my bike a bit the other night :p. I can do all the repairs myself most likely, but the one thing I do need help with is a piece of casing for the engine. It's on the left hand side and I would assume is covers the gearing system(not the sprocket cover though). I need to find that part, as well as having a bolt drilled out, and I was wondering if you lot could recommend anywhere around my area(Formby, Ainsdale, Southport) that would be able to do it, and also an idea of how much it's likely to cost?

    Cheers in advance people :D.

its a massive shame because i had a spare until i sent the 750 down on the ice at 5mph.

I still have a spare gasket for that section if you want it, save you £3, no use to me now :)

Is the casing split? or just scratched!

the piece itself should cost around 30-40 quid? depending on the breakers.. its not rare its just expensive from manufacturer (£200+) for a brand new one!

    Direct bolt ons are from

    Bandit 600 mk1 + mk2, Bandit 1200 mk1 + mk2, GSXR 750 - 1988-1991, GSXF600 (all models i believe).

all the same part number, just diff colours. (b12 is black/gsxr750 is black) but it does polish out nice!

Yup, they are the right models.

But you will probably want a bandit 1200 or gsxr 750 one, due to them being black! :)

crash bars are a fantastic investment for a bandit!

get the black ones, around 30quid on ebay! quality! only problem is you wont be able to have a bellypan without modifying it somehow

Well, after a bit of tinkering, I've managed to get the sheered bolt out woo, so no need to re-thread the hole.

I've got hold of a new case, and the gasket seal thing, but I was just wondering if anyone has any sealant I could use. I'm just reading the Haynes manual and it says just apply a smear of 'Suzuki Bond 1207B or equivalent' to the area surrounding the CrankCase joints. I don't have any, so was wondering if anyone local had any spare that I could use use, or any other stuff that could be recommended to use instead.

    Thanks in advance all :D.

You shouldnt need it mate, its just a smear where the crank cases bolt together and unless the crank cases have been apart it'll still be fine.

I would grease the gasket though.

I just ended up buying a small tube of gasket seal when I bought the engine oil today.

What would you grease the gasket with?
