Ok so today we got the bottom end finished and decided to set up the squish, for those that dont know squish is the gap between the piston and the head, when the piston is at top dead centre its measured on the side of the top. So with the RD350LC its factory set at between 1.5 & 2mm with a head gasket. Now from the great websites out there and other peoples hard work the optimum is between 0.75 & 0.9mm, to do this you sling the head gasket and match the head to the barrels perfectly along with removing some meat. Anyway we followed a guide on the Elsie Cult web site and its going to be set at 0.9mm now happy days Ive also landed a set of mint Allspeed Exhausts (the shorter version for more acceleration) and the intake & exhaust ports have been ported  I'll keep you updated as and when we do a bit more
Its taking a fare bit of time Tommo but it'll be worth it. I still need quite a few parts but you should see it out by easter
Don't take this the wrong way daz but I didn't realise you actually got this hands on with your bikes, very impressed!!! Can't wait to see the little thing fly past me. Are you going old skool with the tyre choice or is it going to be a sticky knee down sort of bike? Sent from my SV650s using Tapatalk
